The final weeks of the 2022/23 Premier League season could see Manchester City make a compelling case as the greatest team ever seen in the modern era of England's top-flight.

Pep Guardiola's City are still fighting across three competitions, to try and match Manchester United's iconic treble of trophies in 1999, ahead of a crunch run-in of games.

On the Premier League front, City will be aiming to squeeze Arsenal out of the title race, despite Mikel Arteta's young team leading the charge for the majority of the campaign.

City's enduring quality and experience has kept them right behind the Gunners, and their title fate is now back in their own hands, as Arteta's charges have see their form dip.

Man City remaining fixtures, schedule

Manchester City have seven matches remaining on their Premier League fixture list.

They are looking to erase thetwo-point gap behind Arsenal at the top of the table, with the Gunners having played two games more than City so far in Premier League action this season.

City's commitments in the FA Cup and Champions League have caused Premier League matches to be pushed back on the schedule and could yet represent a distraction along the way.

City has two Champions League semifinal matches against Real Madrid (May 9 and May 17), and they are set to play in the FA Cup final against Manchester United on June 3. The Champions League final could be the last match on the schedule (June 10) should they advance.

Man City run-in for 2023 season

Man City have a less demanding Premier League run-in than Arsenal, but they face the challenge of maintaining momentum across multiple competitions.

Here's a snapshot of each of the seven remaining Premier League matches.

Fulham (Apr. 30, away)

Guardiola will have the chance to overtake Arsenal for first place on Sunday, April 30, with the Gunners not in action until midweek at Chelsea.

City will have a trip to Craven Cottage earmarked as a win, based on six Premier League victories from six against the Cottagers, under their Catalan coach.

West Ham (May 3, home)

The day after Arsenal clash with Chelsea, Man City welcome West Ham, to tick off one of their two crucial games in hand in the title race.

The Hammers have enjoyed some positive form in recent weeks, as their manager David Moyes looks to guide them to Premier League safety, and despite never having beaten City during Guardiola's tenure, they have secured Premier League draws against City in the last two seasons.

Leeds (May 6, home)

Relegation-battling Leeds United make the trip to Manchester in the first weekend of May with Javi Gracia's side in serious danger of dropping out of the Premier League.

However, City have been ruthless at home this season, with defeat to Brentford the only Premier League points they have dropped at the Etihad Stadium, and the Whites have conceded 14 goals across three consecutive defeats to Guardiola.

Everton (May 14, away)

City's trip to Everton comes in between their two Champions League semifinal clashes with Real Madrid and could present a problem for Guardiola. City will be coming off atrip to Madrid, before arriving at Goodison Park.

Everton held City to a 1-1 draw in Manchester at the end of 2022, and this could be a real test, if Sean Dyche's hosts can produce a backs-to-the-wall performance.

Chelsea (May 21, home)

City and Chelsea have enjoyed some thrilling battles since Guardiola's arrival in English football in 2016 with the Londoners securing five Premier League wins against them in that period.

However, the ongoing managerial and squad upheaval at Stamford Bridge has changed the complexion of this matchup, with former Chelsea and City, midfielder, Frank Lampard, unlikely to be able to stop the City push.

Brighton & Hove Albion (May 24, home)

A long journey to face an impressive Brighton team will also be a challenge. This represents City's other game in hand, and will bring them level on matches played with Arsenal, ahead of the final weekend of the campaign.

Guardiola has been full of praise for Brighton under Italian Roberto De Zerbi, and if the Seagulls are still in the race for Europe, this could be the toughest test in City's run-in.

Brentford (May 28, away)

Ivan Toney's two goals saw City lose their only Premier League home match of the season, back in November, as the England star ruffled the defending champions on home soil.

However, the Bees have seen their own European challenge fade during their run-in, and the sense is that if City need to win this game to clinch the title, they should be more than capable.

Manchester City have won six Premier League titles since the league's modern inception in 1992.

Within that glorious streak, they have won all six titles since 2012, with four coming under the leadership of Guardiola.
